In the modern world, many of us tend to overidentify with our thoughts and minds and as a result, we have become increasingly disconnected from our bodies. BodyMind Movement is a holistic approach which aims to redress the balance by supporting us to focus on the body and drop into our senses and our feelings.

As our culture tends to overvalue talking as a means of communication, this approach also encourages engaging in non-verbal dialogues with ourselves and others, through dance and movement. When we let our bodies do the talking, we may be surprised at what they have to say. Through breath, movement and awareness, we can listen to the stories held in our bodies. Old, buried feelings may emerge and be released. Impulses that we have learned to inhibit can be experienced, allowing us to connect with our deepest longing and needs. We remember we are, in fact, a body-mind and that this is where our wholeness and our aliveness lies.

" The mind is like the wind and the body like the sand: If you  want to know how the wind is blowing, you can look at the sand. "
